Vanessa was born and raised in New Zealand and completed a Bachelor of Physical Education at the University of Otago. She moved to London (UK) as a new graduate and went on to complete a Master of Physiotherapy at the University of East Anglia in 2010. Vanessa has over 12 years of experience working as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in London across private practice, public health, sports, and—primarily—Occupational Health settings.
Her special interests include women’s health and pre-and post-natal care, musculoskeletal injury management (including sports-related injuries), pain education, TMJ dysfunction, and teaching Pilates. Vanessa first discovered the benefits of Pilates while training for the London marathon in 2008. Inspired by its impact, she began teaching group and 1:1 Matwork and Reformer Pilates classes in 2011 and completed her Clinical Pilates Instructor training through APPI. Vanessa thoroughly enjoys this aspect of her work and, where appropriate, integrates Pilates principles and exercises into her rehabilitation programs to support long-term strength, mobility, and confidence.
In 2022, Vanessa relocated from the UK to central Melbourne, and more recently to the beautiful Mornington Peninsula in December 2024. Now providing expert Physiotherapy to the Mt Eliza, Mornington, and Frankston South communities, Vanessa has worked in both private healthcare and Occupational Health settings since moving to Australia. She is passionate about delivering evidence-based, person-centered Physio to her local community.
